King Hasnor
A king of reduced borders
Hasnor inherited Deloria after the kingdom had lost most of its mainland territory. Its harbours still mattered, but older maps made the surviving realm look insignificant beside the land it once controlled. Stronger neighbours treated its weakened borders as an invitation.
Hasnor refused to pretend Deloria remained an empire. His authority came from keeping the coast supplied, protecting refugees and convincing a tired population that survival could be a worthy political goal.
The clearest demand at the Accord
At the Accord of Broken Crowns, Hasnor arrived with the smallest recognised realm and the clearest position: a kingdom did not cease to exist merely because war had reduced its territory.
With Leon’s preparation and Sylvara’s negotiation, he secured mutual recognition of reduced crowns, protected civilian sea lanes and neutral hearings for succession disputes.
Survival without nostalgia
Hasnor’s reputation rests on accepting reality without surrendering identity. He abandoned claims Deloria could no longer defend and used the resulting peace to restore trade through the harbours it still held.
Later rulers invoke his name when choosing between a glorious last battle and an imperfect agreement that leaves people alive to rebuild.
