The Accord of Broken Crowns

Fourth Age · Year 77

Peace without pretending nothing had changed

Deloria had lost most of its mainland territory, Zephyr’s old houses still disputed their borders and Mythos could no longer guarantee the magical roads. King Hasnor of Deloria arrived with the smallest realm and the clearest demand: survival could not depend on how much land a kingdom still controlled.

Leon, Sylvara and the other delegates accepted mutual recognition of reduced realms, protected civilian sea lanes and created neutral hearings for succession disputes. The accord did not restore the six kingdoms to their former strength, but it stopped stronger neighbours from treating every weakened crown as abandoned territory.

A more believable peace

The accord was limited and often tested. It endured because it acknowledged losses instead of erasing them, giving old kingdoms a lawful path to continue while allowing new realms to emerge beside them.
