The First Breach
The war before kingdoms
Morthraxanor did not attack through rage. He spent generations pressing against the same fault in the Veil until a road remained open long enough for an army to cross. The demons built no cities and claimed no harvest; their purpose was to turn the young realm into a permanent bridgehead.
Elirion led the open defence while Zaldor moved unseen behind the invading host and severed its path of retreat. Aphreala gathered the wounded, and the brothers closed the breach from opposite sides. The victory proved that Archdemons could be resisted, but it also proved that the Veil could be broken.
The celestial oath
After the battle, the Archangels swore that mortals would not be kept ignorant of the outer dark. Knowledge of seals, breaches and demonic influence was entrusted to carefully chosen mortal keepers. That decision made the later kingdoms participants in the defence of the world rather than bystanders beneath it.
